Mr Shawn Carter,My king of Hip Hop

I fell in love with Jay Z when i first  heard "Reasonable Doubt" end of 1996, i was a bit late though, as i was still in school and i had to listen to the radio only at the weekends. i first heard "Dead Presidents" on Radio 3 on.  Peter Johns show. Wow i was blown away. I couldn't understand half the rhymes but i just wanted in. Jay had an infections sound, later i then heard ' Aint No Nigga". Foxy was fresh and she was holding her own against Jay Z. As i was still in school i couldn't afford to buy no albums, and foreign music was not locally readily available. but i used to wait for the Peter Johns show because i knew he would definitely play some of that.I would record snippets of songs on my tap recorder and would replay then in my bedroom and rap with Jay.

Reasonable changed my life. I figured what i wanted be when i grew up. I wanted to be a rap. I used to write my own raps and go by the name " Black Sugar ' i even joined a rap band, i was the only female. i remember auditioning for one of the leaders of the band in a parking-lot at night.  But it was in 1997 that i heard " Cant Knock The Hustle' with Mary J Blige. oh i was sold,  and so begun my love and hate relationship with Hip hop. I love Hip Hop with all my heart. I will forever love Hip hop, thanks to Mr. Shawn Carter, but at times i hate Hip Hop when i hear some of the cats that are coming out today. They lack substance. I will not mention names. But overall, Hip Hop will forever be my boo.

I don't care what people say about Jay, he is the greatest that ever did it. and he has paved the way for so many rappers, and inspired so may rappers, including me.

Peace and Love am out @mspeelicious

Lupe Fiasco Quitting Hip Hop

                              Lupe Fiasco Quitting????

5th Sepetmber 2012 Lupe Fiasco announced he will be retiring from the rap game ( via his twitter @LupeFiasco. ) This all comes 20 days before his 4th studio album . Greatest American Rap Album: part 1 is set to drop.I am a huge Lupe fan and i cannot imagine music without Lupe. Lupe is one of the few dudes left in the industry that is a breathe of fresh air, who understands the culture behind Hip hop. it will be sad to see him leave the game, but at the end of the day, it must be hard for him, being a black man from west-side Chicago, but has not conformed to the worldly standards current hip hop.

Lupe always preaches a non violent and non selfish movement ,well him being a Muslim, i guess he has always struggled with the Celeb lifestyle which he never fully embraced, and i must say Lupe seems like a decent guy. It was very disheartening when he dropped the video for  Bi#ch Bad Video - a social commentary song the looks at the use of the word " Bi*ch in everyday life especially in Hip hop, that some critics felt this was pushed, irrelevant or an act, I wondered if these people had ever listened to Lupe Fiasco music before. Even when he was faced with a directive from Atlantic record to make a more 'popy" sound with his previous release "LASERS", he still managed to sneak in an important message through the pop sound. ( listen to Beautiful Lasers ; The Show Goes On ; Till i get There )

A couple of weeks ago while being interviewed by Baltimore 92Q, Lupe said "  "Chief Keef scares me,not him specifically, but just the culture that he represents…The murder rate in Chicago is skyrocketing and you see who's doing it and perpetrating it, they all look like Chief Keef." This led to Keef threatening to smack Lupe Fiasco and called him .... ( Lupe vs chief Keef ). This among other things led to my fav MC saying he's ready to throw in the towel. That GARA: Part 1 will probably be his last album. but Lupe was/ is set to release Great American Rap Album: Part 2 and then Skulls before his contract with Atlantic records is up.

Well only time will tell, maybe Lupe will truly retire and then concentrate on literature.........

Peace and Love especially to my hero Mr. Wasalu Mohammed Jaco ( Lupe Fiasco). you stood out among the rest as you spoke words that build and inspired. even if you weren't appreciated by the masses, there were others like me, who believed in you and still do. Thank you for your music.

Below you can listen to an unfinished American Terrorist II. which was supposed to go on GARA:Part II.

Cop kills man that mauling another's face

What has the world come to?

A Miami police officer fatally shot a naked man chewing the face of another man Saturday afternoon on a downtown causeway off-ramp, officials said. The Miami Herald reported that the naked man chewed off half the face of his victim, who is struggling for his life. The violence started at 2 p.m. on the MacArthur Causeway off-ramp, just south of the Herald’s offices, the newspaper said.

Witnesses said that a woman saw two men fighting and flagged down a police officer, who came upon the naked man mauling the other man, the Herald reported. The officer, who was not identified, ordered the naked man to back away, but when the man continued the assault, the officer shot him, the Herald said. Witnesses told the Herald the wounded attacker continued to eat his victim, so the officer continued firing. Witnesses said they heard at least a half-dozen shots, the Herald said.
The naked man was later seen lying face down on the pedestrian walkway just below the newspaper’s two-story parking garage, the Herald said. The naked man’s victim was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital Ryder Trauma Center and had critical injuries, police told the Herald.
Neither man was identified. The shooting and investigation tied up causeway traffic as crowds were arriving at South Beach for an annual Urban Beach Week hip-hop festival.

Lupe Fiasco on Trayvon Martin, peace in the Mid-East and who is helped b...

Musician and activist Lupe Fiasco joins Cenk to talk about Democrats, politics in the Middle East and Trayvon Martin. "There's too many opinions out," he says of media coverage on the case.
Tune in Weeknights at 7:00/6:00c on Current TV

I guess in a way he is right in that we all form our opinions about certain things based on other people's opinions which are based on what they read in the paper or heard on TV. Liek with the KONY2012 thing, so much was said by so many people especially celebrities and sadly most of these people never get to reseacrh before they form opinions.

i choose to be a reader and a researcher before i form an oinion.

About the Isreli - palestine conflight, i think this is a war that dates as far back as the bible and i feel people i.e. USA should not pick a side because so many people have died and this needs to be resolved. Israel and Palestine need leaders that are willing to come together to see an end to this conflict.

peace and love ...........
